From: Olivetolic acid, a cannabinoid precursor in Cannabis sativa, but not CBGA methyl ester exhibits a modest anticonvulsant effect in a mouse model of Dravet syndrome

Olivetolic acid is anticonvulsant against hyperthermia-induced seizures in Scn1a+/- mice. Threshold temperature of individual mice for generalized tonic-clonic seizure (GTCS) induced by hyperthermia in male and female Scn1a+/- mice following acute intraperitoneal treatment with varying doses of A CBGA methyl ester or B olivetolic acid. Olivetolic acid (100 mg/kg) significantly increased the temperature threshold for GTCS, indicating an anticonvulsant effect. CBGA methyl ester had no effect on thermally induced seizures. The average temperatures of seizure induction are depicted by the bars and error bars represent SEM, with n = 17–19 per group (*p < 0.05, Mantel-Cox logrank)
